Subscriber terms
What you get, what we promise, and what we do not.
These terms apply when you subscribe to The Construction Intelligence Brief (“the Brief”), published by Akil Ltd. They sit alongside the site terms of use and the privacy notice.
1. What the Brief is
A weekly editorial digest of developments in the construction industry — regulation and policy, market and procurement signals, company moves, standards and case law — with sources cited and our confidence in each source tagged. It is curated by Akil. Issues are published on the site and sent by email to confirmed subscribers. Frequency is weekly in normal operation; we may skip weeks and will say so.
2. It is free, and it is not advice
The Brief is free. It is commentary, not professional advice: we summarise and interpret public sources and we may be wrong or out of date. Confidence tags (verified, reported, claimed, analysis) describe our editorial view of a source; they are not a warranty. Check the cited source before acting on anything, and take your own advice on your own circumstances.
3. Subscribing and unsubscribing
Subscription is double opt-in: we send a confirmation link and mail you only after you click it. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link and supports one-click unsubscribe from your mail client. Unsubscribing stops all future issues; we keep a suppression record of the email address only, so we do not mail you again by mistake.
4. Segments and pilots
We may offer editions cut for a professional segment (for example quantity surveyors, contract administrators, claims or planning roles). These are editorial selections from the same source material, not personalised profiling. If we run a pilot edition with a fixed number of issues we will say so when you join it, and you can leave at any time.
5. Your data
We hold your email address, an optional name, the page you subscribed from, and timestamps. We do not track opens with pixels. We do not sell or share the list. Full details, processors and your rights are in the privacy notice.
6. Sharing the Brief
Forward it, quote it with attribution, link to the web version. Please do not republish whole issues or scrape the archive. Content remains the copyright of Akil Ltd; cited sources remain their owners’.
7. Changes and ending the service
We may change the format, cadence or name of the Brief, or stop publishing it. Material changes to these terms will be announced in an issue; continuing to receive the Brief after that is acceptance.
